SCHARN AND EDMAN PRAISE HESKEY
Defenders Paul Scharner and Erik Edman both admired Emile Heskey's performance in the 1-0 win over Bolton
Latics have now not conceded for an incredible six hours of Barclays Premier League football and although the Wigan defence has been water tight, both revealed their delight as Heskey netted the all important goal on Sunday.
Scharner told Wigan world subscribers on Monday, "We had to play with ten men for eighty-six minutes and Emile is back onto the scoring list and it was a big win for us."

The Austrian admitted Latics were fortunate at times. The former Rosenborg man said "We had the luck we needed I think we saved it two or three times on the line. It is very difficult to play almost a whole match a man down and you have to defend very well to get the right result, and we got it.
"We now have 31 points and we are on the way although we still need eight or nine more. But we have had a few clean sheets now too so what more can you ask for?"
Swedish left-back Erik Edman made his fourth appearance on Sunday and has yet to concede a goal in a Latics shirt, and he admitted his surprise at seeing team mate Jason Koumas being given his marching orders by referee Steve Tanner.
The 29-year old said, "It was a great win and even though we had a red card we still beat them. I thought it was harsh and I actually thought the other guy Cahill was going to get booked instead."

The former Spurs man also agreed with Scharner and revealed just how highly he rates Wigan's goal hero.
He continued, "OK we were lucky on occasions but I think we deserved the win. Heskey was brilliant for us today, he is just huge and he can help hold up the ball for us. For me he is a world class striker."
