Kirky to miss France game

Chris Kirkland has been ruled out of England's friendly against France this week with a back injury.

Kirland suffered the injury in Wigan's defeat to Blackburn on Saturday, but after treatment on the pitch, was able to continue for the full ninety minutes.

Manager Steve Bruce said Kirkland will receive intensive treatment all week before a decision is made regarding next weekend's msatch at Portsmouth.

West Ham United's Robert Green has been called into the squad.
