NO. 2 UNHAPPY AT EWOOD RESULT
Assistant manager Eric Black told Wigan World subscribers that the performance was out of character for Latics.
The 44-year old bluntly said after the 3-1 defeat at Blackburn, "I thought it was our worst performance. I don't know if it was a side effect of when we had a fantastic win last week over Bolton. I thought Blackburn looked the better team with just ten men. We could not take advantage of the extra man at all."
The defeat took the shine of Wigan's impressive statistic of having had five clean sheets from six games before the trip to East Lancashire.
Black continued, "The last few games have been exceptional but after the Blackburn result it might well be that it gives us a scare to keep away from the relegation scrap.
"We do not want to dwell on this too much because the lads have done well recently. What is important now is how we respond to that performance at Ewood Park."
