Young keeper Russell Saunders loaned to Gainsborough Trinity

Latics young goalkeeper Russell Saunders has been loaned to Blue Square Conference North side Gainsborough Trinity for a month, the club can confirm.

The Bury born 19 year-old has been at Latics nearly three seasons, having come through a two year-scholarship and being offered a one year deal last Summer.

Saunders has been a regular in Latics reserves this season, but has not yet tasted first team action.

He was loaned to Altrincham earlier in the season to gain some first team experience, but unfortunately injured a knee during his first match and had to return early.

He comes into contention for Trinity's trip to Worcester City next Saturday, April 5th.
