WE'RE STILL CONFIDENT SAYS BENT
Top scorer Marcus says the squad is determined to finish the job at Villa.
Latics drew 0-0 against Reading last weekend to keep themselves five points above the relegation zone with just two games to play. A win would have been enough to guarantee safety but Latics must wait until next weekend's trip to Aston Villa.
Bent admitted it was frustrating not to have consolidated Wigan's Barclays Premier League position in front of their fans.
"It was a bit disappointing because if we had won we would have been safe, but football is an unforgiving game and you don't always get the result you expect. It was not our best performance but we got a point and it is another point gained.
"We are professionals but we are also human and you do get nervous and we get anxious as it was a big occasion.
"But we are still five points away from the other teams at the bottom and all we can now do is concentrate next week.
"We have had good results against good teams and there is confidence and a buzz around the place at the moment."

Whilst assistant boss Eric Black was also disappointed with the result, but the number two said he still preferred Wigan's league position to many other teams below us in the table.
The 44-year old said, "We were so close to getting over the finishing line but then the legs feel a little but heavier but the players continued to persevere and a draw was a fair result.
"But we are still in a very good position and with two games to go we would have taken this situation."
