The right sided Ecuadorian midfielder made his loan move permanent in the January signing until 2011.
Steve Bruce admired Valencia before joining the Club and made signing him permanent one of his first priorities.
Valencia can play in either a central midfield role or on the right wing, and has more than 20 caps for his country, including their 1-0 defeat by England in the World Cup in 2006.
The Ecuadorian only moved to Spain in the summer of 2005 after being snapped up for £1.2million from CD El Nacional and was loaned out to Recretivo Huelva last season as he adjusted to football in Europe.
