"As a Latics fan of over 20 years standing, the amount of progress the club has made during that time, but especially over the past ten years, has been staggering. I don't think there can be any other club in the world of football who has made such progress, and grown so much within itself. It is quite fitting really, as our motto under the badge is 'Progress With Unity'. And with the outstanding growth of the club's fanbase during the last ten years, 'unity' has definitely played a key part. There is now a real eclectic mix within the Wigan Athletic supporters, with there being people who can remember the historic Newcastle United cup ties of 1954, people who remember the 60's and the 70's era's, featuring players such as the late Ian Gillibrand, and the promotion to the football league, to people who were there during the 1980's successful period, the hard years of the early 90's and the arrival of Mr Whelan, to the '3 Amigo's' and the beginnings of the road to glory, with the promotions and all the wonderful success under Paul Jewell, right up to now, and this exciting new era under Chris Hutchings. Never before have so many young children been visible at Latics matches, and they are the key to the future. A young fan who comes and enjoys the match experience, is often hooked for life.

Personally, I don't think that I have ever been as eager for the season to begin, save perhaps for the first Premiership season. I think we've brought some real quality into a squad that massively underachieved last season. But maybe now players are more settled, and with the new, positive signings which we have made, we can move onto the next 'phase', if you like. I honestly believe that a top ten finish and maybe even European football, is within our reach. We as fans, have a really big part to play, by getting behind the team and creating a strong atmosphere at 'fortress JJB' making it intimidating for visiting teams, something which we did in our first season, but was somewhat subdued last season. Good luck to Chris Hutchings and the boys, we'll be right behind you, lads!

I am pleased to write a message with nothing but positive comments! I can't wait for the new Premier League campaign to get underway and I am very happy with the new "gaffer" Chris Hutchings. I think he has made some very positive signings and the club will do really well this next season.

Me and my girlfriend have been down to the training ground to watch the players in action. They seem to be great as a team already, the new players and staff have just gelled together. I think a fantastic addition to the team is Frank Barlow. He and Chris Hutchings look to have their team positive and ready for what will be a long hard season. But with the strides forward being made we can expect nothing but 100% from the players all season long. So i congratulate you and thank you for all the improvements made here in Wigan and with the season tickets flying out of the ticket office, I hope the fans can give 100% aswell. Come on guys, SING YOUR HEARTS OUT FOR THE LADS!!!! So GOOD LUCK Wigan Athletic in the new 07/08 premiership season. WE ARE WIGAN, WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!!
