Watching Latics in the 60's in the Northern Premier League, my hero was centre forward, Geoff Davies. Incredible commitment- putting himself about, all over the place. Around that time, I remember a particular goal scored by left back Billy Sutherland-thunderous left foot volley, from outside the box- unstoppable.
